Size Options:
Standard size unit as diagram (A), upstand kerb if required can be modified
to suit non standard sizes, other options available in one piece, Domes from
450mm diametre to 1950mm diameter, see Data sheet.
Insulation:
Cork or Pvc insulation can be fitted to the base kerb, as an option, to suit
your requirements.
Manufacture:
Thermoformed from 3mm thick polycarbonate sheet, and available as single, twin
or triple skin units, our roof lights benefit from high impact resistance,
and long life due to the UV protective coating applied to the outer skin
during sheet manufacture. A wide range of colour and transparency options
are available to suit the majority of applications, the most commonly supplied
to our clients being clear, clear patterned or opal. Please contact our technical
staff if you require colour samples or information on additional colour options.
Benefits:
This unit type allows circular or a faceted upstand that can be either
provided by ourselves or an extension of the roof structure. This unique design
give the largest one piece dome with a modern design shape.
Fixing Details:
When the kerb is supplied fully assembled ready for fitment to roof structures,
the kerb should be fixed at 300mm centres. Thermoformed Roof lights - Are
supplied separately to kerb and should be bolted to the opening frame, sealer
washers, caps and roofing bolts with nuts are supplied as standard for this
purpose.
Cleaning / Maintenance:
Cleaning - Thermoformed roof lights should be washed down with a mild detergent
and warm water. Do not use abrasives.
Other options available:
This unit can be supplied with an ‘Adaptor kerb profile’ giving adjustment
to (see Data Sheet), and enabling many of our products to be incorporated
into the upstand kerb.
Points to check prior to advising us
of your requirements:
When placing an enquiry/ order please be sure to note the roof opening size
, and where possible the width of the upstand kerb.
Impact Test:
At the request of Nulite Ltd, B.R.E tested various size samples of Domed roof
lights with either a PVC or steel upstand kerb, the test assesses the fragility
of the specimen roof light when subjected to an impact by a large soft body
as in the standard ACR (m) 001:2000 (full details on the test report are
available on request).
